The orientation presentation of our Public Relations and Publicity Department for the 2023-24 academic year was held for first-year students.

The orientation held for the first-year students of the Public Relations and Publicity Department began with the speech of our Department Head Prof. Dr. Hasan Tutar.
“A person is similar to the city he lives in, and Beautiful Cities are similar to Bolu”
Prof. Dr. Hasan Tutar stated that this meaningful slogan he wrote was used within the scope of Bolu’s promotion and emphasized that Bolu is a safe and livable city. Tutar, who gave important advice to our students who are just starting their university life, touched on the traces of being a good person in our culture. He gave examples from Mevlana’s words.

Then, our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı explained our Faculty’s successes in scientific performance rankings and quality studies in his speech. Dean Tandırlı emphasized to the first-year students of Public Relations and Promotion that in order to be successful in a global competitive environment, one must be innovative, creative and productive.

After the management introduction speeches of the first orientation program, the opening first lesson of the Faculty of Communication, Educator Protocol Presenter, Journalist Writer Editor, Media and Communication Expert Nilüfer Ertem Özkan provided certain important cultural information about Bolu Province. She explained the importance of İzzet Baysal for Bolu and why he is called “İzzet Baba”.

The first lesson continued interactively, the students who took the floor said that it was their first time abroad, that they would miss their hometown but that they would love Bolu as well. After the opening lesson that attracted great interest from the first-year students, the introduction of the University was started. Dean Tandırlı made an introductory presentation that outlined the necessary information such as the University’s management, structure, facilities, opportunities etc.

After his presentation, Faculty Secretary Hayrettin Karataş provided important information about the functioning and administrative issues during the student period. Karataş provided information on important issues such as academic calendar, document requests, etc. Underlining how useful the live support platform Empatilef, developed by the faculty administration, is in important and intensive processes of the academic calendar such as registrations, exams, graduations, etc., Karataş thanked Dean Tandırlı on behalf of the administrative staff for the support he gave to this project. Our faculty student representative Tevhide İrem Zorlu opened her own student information system and showed all the details about the topics of interest via a curtain reflection.

The orientation program was very well attended.
