The Public Relations and Publicity Department, one of the most established and robust academic units within the Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, held a magnificent orientation program for its new students on October 2, 2025. The program, held in the Faculty Conference Hall, once again demonstrated the department's extensive academic knowledge, strong vision, and student-centered approach to education.
With its highly qualified academic staff, the Public Relations and Publicity Department, one of the departments with the highest publication performance in Turkey and renowned for its national and international reputation, solidifies its position as a leading communication department not only within the university but also in Türkiye.

In the opening remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı, emphasized the importance of equipping students not only with professional achievements but also with human values. "Being a communicator means being conscientious, just, and a leader in society," Tandırlı said, reminding students that the department is among Turkey's leading departments thanks to its TÜBİTAK projects and high publication performance.

Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Sarı, provided students with information about the academic system, stating that faculty resources support students' development in every aspect. Department Head Prof. Dr. Hasan Tutar emphasized the critical role of knowledge production in their professional futures. His words, "Our students are being raised as the most sought-after professionals in the sector, not only in Public Relations but in all areas of communication," drew thunderous applause from the audience.

Throughout the program, the department's esteemed faculty members shared their visions with the students. Prof. Dr. Himmet Karadal emphasized that entrepreneurship is the most important skill for 21st-century communicators, while Prof. Dr. Yavuz Akçi emphasized the multifaceted development opportunities offered by university life. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüsamettin Akar provided the most accurate roadmap for students to follow in their course schedules and shared tips for academic success. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Akar emphasized that Erasmus and international exchange programs are the most valuable opportunities for students to become global citizens. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arzu Karasaç Gezen stated that critical thinking is one of the most fundamental skills the Public Relations and Publicity Department instills in its students.

Assistant Lecturer Merve Diltemiz explained course content and practical applications, while Res. Asst. Selin Akınç Akpınar provided general information about the university system and, highlighting the tragedies in Gaza, emphasized the importance of students developing a conscientious stance. Hayrettin Karataş provided critical information on legislation and regulations, while Student Representative Sıla Erdoğan shared practical advice on using the UBYS system.

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University's Public Relations and Publicity Department leads the academic world with its national and international publications each year and continues to make a difference in the communications sector with the students it trains. With its strong academic staff, rich course content, project-oriented education approach, and universal vision, the department proudly continues to be one of the most prestigious communication departments not only at our University but in Türkiye.
